That is just one of the nicest projects I have seen. It looks too good to be used as your bad weather bike.
It just goes to show that you don't have to spend massive amounts of money to achieve a good result.

Yeah, awesome. I haven't read all this yet, but: how often does it need to be polished to keep the shine?

This is my winterbike and I only drive it 4-5 months a year. In this period I polish it every month quickly which takes about 15 minutes. And give it a good polish after this period before store it for the next winter.

Looks awesome. That is one of my all time favorite Cdale's. I remember trying to find one at every shop on the east coast and not being able to find one I was so bummed. Maybe i'll find a used one some day. I just do not understand why Cdale does not rock this stuff more.....there colors are always terrible (neon green) and if not neon green they have some graphic printed all over the frame. Its probably the #1 reason I do not my cdale's.

^ I reckon their plain colours were great up to a certain year, then they got too funky and uglied some of them right up.

I'd have one of these in a second!! Or a red one or a blue one or a black, or.....

Your bike is simply stunning!! I have an old '88 R600 which I repainted/polished, many years ago. The polished metal is clearcoted. This bike is used for bad weather and I never have to polish it: It shines today like it did 14 years ago when I redone the frame. Your bike makes me think about switching my bike components for polished aluminum ones!!

A friend of mine is considering buy this frame with this problem on the coat.
How difficult and expensive is it to repair?
