Love it - so close to 5kg now! I'm putting some Sprinters (tan side walls) on mine. Definitely eager to see how they roll compared to the Contis that were on my rims. Let us know how they ride.

The veloflex ride beautifully. I wasn't a big fan of the vittoria corsa's that were on before but i can now see the rationale for tubulars over clinchers ither than weight saving. And there were super easy to glue yoo.

Loving the attention to detail on the evo build. I've got a few ideas from your build for my madone restoration build.

Few changes.
Got a bike fit, apparently not as flexible as I used to be, had to gain some stack, luckily already had my lighter 2016 evo fork on the way. So new fork was 261g after sanding and re clear coating. Have since cut off about 6-7 grams of length. (255g) - 40 or so grams.
Switched out my old ultrastar 2 (7g) for the new ultrastar 3 (6g) -1g
Switched out my wifli inner plate for fibrelyte 6g (-3g) - might still dremel this to be lighter still
Exchanged lower pulley for 11T extralite from 10T - same weight by my scale.
Spacers - had to switch from veloflyte top cap + microspacers + single 10mm spacer (6g) to had 15mm of spacers would have added 4g - 10g total but didn't like the look, so got out my tapered carbon spacer (17g) that came with the evo + alloy headset cover (5g) - dremeled the inner radius of the conical spacer to just three spars (post dremel weight 10g), had to dremel alloy spacer to work with FSA SL headset - took off 1g in the process and headset much smoother than before. Total spacer weight for 25mm - 14g. (+8g)

Have moved and don't have my scales but with the ax lightness wheels i must be sub 5kg well and truly. Will post some up to date photos with a scale shot but for now here are some updated photos with the meilensteins.

Always in awe when I see pictures of your bike. One of the best I've ever seen. And congrats on smashing 5kg!

Love the bike and the attention to detail. Awesome work.

I had a question on your Extralite QR skewers. How do you find the Streeters for ease of clamping / clamping force in comparison to other lightweight skewers you’ve used? Reason I ask is that to get sufficient force to prevent creaking under load with my meilensteins and the U20 skewers is not very easy. I have some Tune AC14 internal cam skewers which are much better in that regard, but obviously the streeters are quite a bit lighter.

Cheers, Dave

The streeters have much better clamping force. See the fairwheel skewer shootout. That said I have just cracked one of the endcaps on the lever side. I would put some antiseize on the axles of the meilensteins - only thing that stocked my extralite hubs creaking (evo dropouts not square)

News.
Berk wasn't flat enough side to side for me, so have gone back to s works toupe + 29g compared to padded berk lupina
This required a setback post so back to ritchey superlogic 1 bolt + 50 grams vs carbonice

So currently 5.04kg.

BUT
Have switched from lizardskin DSP to deda traforato (?-10g)
Have switched from ilink to minilink for shifting with a more compact run (- 10-20grams?)
Have ordered a darimo setback in 250mm which should be around 85g (-50grams)
Have been testing an ax lightness leaf leather which seems to be working for me. (88g) - 25g
Have bought a cheap lightly used xg1190 11-28 (158 with extralite lockring) - (21g) vs 11-30.

So should be comfortably sub 5kg after part exchanges with the 11-28. Will update with pics when parts arrive.

I love this bike and I know you've done a heap of work to shave even a few grams off it, but......etap please

i know it would add a bit of weight, but you could possibly bring the derailleur cage over to offset some of that. just from as aesthetic point of view, i love how etap clears up shifting cables and give the bike a cleaner look

loving the details, why using Force FD?

The force fd shifts q rings way better than the yaw fd. And compared to lighter dura ace fds it doesn't need any trim to have it rubless.
