Link to the upper bearing please? I'm looking at the Ultratop and headtube is within tolerance, but €99 is a bit steep when all I need is the bearing cartridge.

Yeah only the upper fits. Pretty sure they are but check dimensions before ordering.

Cannondale Slice RS *****http://imgur.com/a/5ErZV ******* 8.89kg

Image

Image
Stem extenders drilled to take di2 cables - all junctions for front of bike within stem

Image
Kept having bottle fall out over bumps - 2x garmin rubber bands knotted together holds bottle in.
Image
Table tennis raquet grip glued to saddle with contact glue - grippy but not abrasive
Image
Black bullet under stem is aero cover for junction A - made from cover for weird brush golf tee I found, cut in half and painted black, window for button/lights underneath.
Image
Custom carbon plate garmin/light mount - made from 3mm carbon plate, pro missile mounting hardware and k-edge inserts. Also usefully stiffens the front end
Image
Used noodles rather than housing for brake run, able to run much tighter bends without friction

The Dale road bike is fab. Love the attention to detail. The work you've done on the cranks is a thing of beauty. It looks so much better than the graphic't standard cranks. Same with the rear mech. And extra kudos for doing the sanding etc yourself. One of the nicest bikes I've seen on here for a long time. Chapeau.

Thanks KB.

dereksmalls the stiffness and braking on the ultras is phenomenal. I am 72kg and I cannot get them to rub even up really steep pinches out of the saddle. The braking is on par with the xentis. I run campag carbon pads on both, no squealing, brake modulation and power in the dry, but not amazing in the wet (like all carbon i have tried). They brake better than my meilensteins and roval clx40s. Build quality is excellent too.

Updates.

PF30 bearing exchange after dremeling out center sleeve - saving 15g
Swapped in FSA SL bottom bearing (managed to get it to work) saved 9g
Swapped Vittoria corsa 25mm for veloflex criterium - much nicer tyres, mounted much nicer on the rims (shape matched better) saved 40g
Swapped from padded to unpadded berk saddle saved 18g
Beefed up garmin/exposure mount - now very stiff, even over bumpy roads (definately overbuilt now) +4g
Switched back to extralite streeters - better clamping force over the tune skyline ZFS +12g

Now 5.02kg with extralite skewers.
5.01kg with tune ZFS skewers.

Plans for the future fibrelyte inner plate for tuning. Berk combo.
