One VERY happy boy !!!!!! my other ride is a 1987 custom Marinoni that's been rebuilt about 7 years ago with Campy Centaur. She still rides like a dream but felt it was time to make the move to something current so Parlee got the nod.
The new Parlee colour scheme looks really nice. How about a ride report?
Enjoy riding your Z5, they are awesome all round machines
Parlee Z5 XL (6055g/13.32lbs) Trek Madone 5.9 (7052-7500g)Jonesman Columbus Spirit (8680g)
Chase your dreams - it's only impossible until it's done
As for the ride, today at lunch I did my usual 13 mile loop and without hammering just riding as I usually do I bested my time by 2min 20 seconds CRAZY !!!!! My past ride is a 1987 custom Marinoni (Columbus SL/SP tubing) with Campy Ventoux wheels, it weighs in around 23lbs. The Parlee is just over 15lbs with 50mm carbon clinchers so that combo really does make a difference. Sure maybe I was going somewhat harder but 2min 20 seconds over just 13 miles, never did I think it would make that big of a difference. The ride itself is pretty amazing, my Marinoni still rides like a dream but this thing is a point and shoot weapon. No wasted movement at all and once you get above 18mph it "feels" like it just wants to go, that's where I'm making up time for sure, this thing maintains speed very differently than the Marinoni.
