I have wide tubeless tyres f45 and tubulars. I think both are great. I ride both but the tubs are the more reliable tyre for me. The dugasts are also the fastest tyre i have. I cant say they are more or less grippy or more or less comfortable than a good tubeless tyre.
29x2.0 dugast fast birds feel a bit like the 29x2.2" conti race kings race sport tyres run tubeless on wide rims (real width closer to 2.3") but the dugasts overall give a lighter wheel. The one thing dugast tubulars allow is lower pressures than tubeless. I can run the race kings as low as 20psi but 22psi is better. 18psi on the front works wwell with fast birds. I am not stuck in the past. I try many things to see which works for me. I prefer tubulars over tubeless but use both.
Geax saguro tubulars are more durable than many tubeless tyres but are not the fastest. Good grip in most conditions though.
Dugast finally have the ori tubulars ready for me. Going to try these out. Tubeless tubular perfect. I expect to be able to run sub 20psi. I'll report back when my ollar has healed.
The scwable pro core tubeless system really transforms tubeless tyres though. Got that as well and comfort and pace over rough terrain has to be felt to be belived. With the geax tyres i use are 2.4" wide i run 12 psi front and 14psi rear.
So f45 am i stuck in the 90's?

just received today my 4 ori tubs 2 x fast bird ans 2x ernst.
Weight 576g vs 617g for the standard version of the fast bird.
Shame my thumb is still hurting from the crash. I cant remove the current tubs to fit them a try them out. Maybe I will wince through the pain tomorrow.

Saved 40g as promised. Very accurate.
Is the special milk coming with it that needs to be in the oris?
Or is this just an option?

There is sealant supplied. not sure if I have to use it or I can use any sealant.
Dugast does say there sealant is CO2 compatible so since they have given it to me/I have paid for it, I will use it.
I did remove the back Geax tub but fitted a tubed fast bird today. That was hard. broken shoulder and thumb complained a bit. I will mount these ori tubs on new wheels I need to build.

Well ok, you're not stuck in the 90s, but I still don't think I got a fair report on tubulars.
I put this wheelset on my 26er from the 90s that I ride around my private XC track. It's basically hardpack with little rock and few turns so they do pretty good. I modified a few sections so they're more tubular friendly. I'm going to wear out the tires i have then dumpster the rims.
One mod I did was cut out the transition knobs on the Saguaro. It bites a bit better in the turns now.

What rims? I still have a bunch of 26" tubulars and rims gathering dust.
Mounted the dugast fast birds ori tubs today. I t did not measure thewidth but they look like 2" tyres to me. I have to experiment with pressures. Tonights ride home was at 23psi front and around 25psi rear and these are the most comfortable mtb tyres i have ever tried. I normally get pkns and needles in my hand not tonight. Also they feel fast and grip better than anything else i have tried. Te terrian i ride on was not challanging, bridleways and paths all hardpacked some gravel. Old fashioned xc really. Next week i will try lower pressures but i am impressed. I will have to take the bike to a trail centre and give them a good trashing.
