Can anyone who has used, or still does, a Dura Ace rear derailleur for XC MTB racing share their experiences... I'm thinking of a switch... Your thoughts are much appreciated...

i use a dura ace (04) rd with sram rocket shifters and 11-32 cassette and 22-32-44 chainrings.

i have installed a xtr cage on the dura ace, now it works really good. only when i use the 32t. (rear) ther is a noise...

weight: 190g (dura ace rd with xtr cage and alu screws)

Currently running -

DA7800 rear mech (10 speed Dura Ace)
48.36.26 (XT crankset) x 11-23 DA (9 speed)
9 speed XTR/DA chain.

previously ran 44.32.22 x 11-23
I was able to climb anything.

48.36.26 x 11-23 is just a stretch too far for me.

Likely I will settle on 11-27 x 48.36.26 (I do a lot of road miles too)

At the same time consider running a KMC 10 speed chain to shed 40g!

dont forget a road cassette alows you to run a shorter chain and loose soem grams
