Hey all,

Anyone got any feedback on the Epic worldcup? I am able to pick a one ridden demo up half price in the expert model. $5000AUD

Can swap out the GX Transmission for Eagle AXS, the wheels for some Roval Control SLs and a lighter stem, bar and saddle.

10.5kg stock without pedals.

Cheers

Nice looking bike mate! I keep hearing mixed reviews sbout the gulp settings and having no lock out. All reviews say it is only for shortcourse xc races and wouldnt suit long rides... would a marathon be possible on this or is it racebike only?
Cheers

Since racers for years have completed marathon XC races on hardtails, yes it would be possible on the Epic World Cup. It just depends how hardened your body is. If you're soft, go for a 120/120 full suspension bike.

Agreed - I think it would depend on both the course(s) and your expectations.

I rode Canadian XCM Nationals the last two years. Both courses had a few black sections of trail, but they were very different. In the Yukon last year, there were some serious rock-rolls, where steepness or drop features earned that qualification. This year's course had black sections due to roots and rocks far more than any steepness.

I was happy riding a 120/120 full-suspension XC bike, as that set-up matches my ambitions and expectations - it's never at a significant disadvantage on mellow trails, while having a bit extra room for error when things get fun.

If someone told me I needed to ride a hardtail or Epic WC on one of those courses, there's no question I'd pick the Yukon course... but if I'm only going to have one bike for off-road racing and riding, it's not what I'd choose because of my own personal preferences for trail type and riding expectations.

Thanks, my feeling is that the bike works similar to the previous version with the Brain damper. So perfectly fine for the marathon :)
