Hi guys
Toying with the idea of a new ht build.
My current hack is a 26er Stanton Slackline Ti weighing in at 10.7kg's. I've thought about trying to bring the weight down some more but probably can't without considerable investment.
Never had a carbon bike so was thinking maybe it's time for a change, but what?
Current contenders and available prices...
Orbea Alma (2022 model 1200)
Scott Scale 940 (2023 1050)
I'm not so worried about the components initially as am happy to upgrade along the way, but would like a decent frame to start with and build on.
Would prefer a 29er but not averse to 27.5
Don't need full Susser, got that covered.
Am I missing anything?
Happy to buy second hand.
Open to suggestions!

Thanks for the heads up, but it was out of budget.
The good news is there's a Scott Scale 930 coming at a price I couldn't refuse, which has left some money in the pot to start upgrading:-)

Biggest bang for buck upgrade on this bike: replace the fork. There is no cheaper way to win 600g and the damping will be a lot better. The one that's on there costs 235 euro aftermarket.

I've got carbon bars/seat pin ready to go, and a sub 100g stem.
Was also looking at changing from 12 speed to 11. Should save 2-300g with the cassette (I don't need a 50 odd tooth)
So...shifter, rear derailleur and chain plus a new pair of wheels.
Thinking Mavic crossmax at 1770g a pair opposed to the OEM wheels at 2650g. I know I can go lighter but trying not to blow the budget too much.
Should be able to gain 2-300g on the tyres too.
Probably chainset after that as I think the OEM Shimano is a bit porky.
