Any good recomendations of shops/sites in EU, that offer wheels with berd spokes. Not sure I`m comfortable building wheels myself.
30mm internal, 28 holes.
Berd white spokes
15x110 and 12x148 XD
DT 180/240 or Carbon-Ti hubs prefered
Centerlock prefered.

I know Extralite does wheels with berd, but they are 6 bolt and a bit more, than I would like to spend. (910g/950g)
https://www.extralite.com/Products/Carb ... %20330.htm

Berd HAWK30 1394g seems too heavy.

Dutch Wheel Works is the official european distributor.

PI Rope is essentially the same product but european. They don't build with other hubs though (yet), which is a shame as I don't want to ride anything else than DT Swiss Hubs on my MTB wheels.

Found https://bockstein.bike/en/wheels/, but they don`t list any prices. Asked for a quote.
Nextie does not offer wheels with berd spokes.
https://www.lightbicycle.com Seems to do wheels with berd, but I dont see berd option in the configurator. Need to ask by email.
Got a quote:
Wheelset price: USD2290.4/pair
XC930 290gram or 330gram+DT Swiss 180+Berd spokes+aluminum nipples
The same build but with DT Swiss 240EXP hub, the price is USD1801.4/pair

https://www.deerobust.com Does wheels with berd spokes, but don`t know anything about them.

Thanks, https://www.wheel-tec.nl/en-gb/ seems good.

DUKE Lucky Jack SLS4 30 (300g)
Erase MTB Hook Flange Hubs
Berd spokes
1112g 1899€ based on the pdf on the web.

DUKE Lucky Jack SLS4 30 (300g)
DT-SWISS 240 EXP SP hubs
Berd spokes
1087g 2099€ based on the pdf on the web.

DUKE Lucky Jack SLS4 30 (300g)
DT-SWISS 180 EXP hubs
Berd spokes
1034g 2299€ based on the pdf on the web.

I realy like Nextie Omega 30mm internal (NXT29VM36U) 280g rims with no holes in rim bead, but that would be more expensive to build, than the Duke offer at Wheel-Tec.

I know it's not in EU but my build was BTLOS m22i extralight rims (250g), extralite cyber3 hubs , berd spokes (24 and 28h), 896g for the set, something like $1300 I think.

One of my friends has Porte rims on Extralite hubs, laced with Berd spokes and told me, it needs regular checking for spoke tension. I saw a video somewhere on YT where the tester mentioned a similar experience - however, maybe it's related to the bike building technique. (?) Anyone can confirm this?
If yes, the same applies for PiRope wheelsets as well?

From Berd's FAQ:

"Because Berd spokes are made from a flexible fiber, do they shrink or expand?

Berd spokes do experience viscoelastic stretching during the build process where they will initially lose tension after being brought into tension for the first time. Once the wheels have been properly built and tensioned they will stabilize.

Do Berd spokes lose tension over time, and what maintenance is required?

All wheels with Berd spokes are built with a multi-day tensioning process to reduce the amount of tension loss that will happen after the wheels are installed on a bike. Despite this, the tension in Berd spoke wheels will decrease by approximately 30% over the first 6 months of use due to the natural "bedding in" process of the fibers. This loss in tension does not affect the durability or longevity of Berd spoke wheels, and there is no requirement to increase the tension. If desired, the tension can be increased after 3-6 months by turning each nipple by 2 full turns from the tire side of the nipple while using the Berd spoke holding tool to prevent the spokes from twisting, followed by minor adjustments to ensure the wheel is true and dished properly.

What are the tension and trueness specifications for new Berd wheels?

At Berd we strive to deliver the highest quality products and wheel builds. We true our wheels to within .25 mm radially, .25 mm laterally, and within .50 mm for the dish. The tension specification for finished Berd wheels is 100 kgf. Berd spokes will lose approximately 30% of their initial tension over the first six months but unlike metal spokes they maintain all of their strength regardless of tension and increasing the tension is not required. This is a normal process and a trained bicycle mechanic can bring the tension back up to 100 kgf if desired."

Did you ask Light-Bicycle for a quote? I remember reading they're building wheelsets with Berd spokes but don't think I saw prices quoted.

Yes, I posted this before:

If you pick the NA warehouse, then the configurator will allow you to pick berd spokes as well.

Late to the party, but I have a Berd spoked wheelset from Wheel-tec and I can't say one bad thing about them. Good communication and a really nice wheelset. I went for 28mm internal DUKE rims with DT-Swiss 180 hubs, running 2.25" tires.

Would recommend. Can show you some pictures if you want.

I went with option #1. Builder is waiting for Nextie rims, then he can start building.

I am having Light-Bicycles make me a set of wheels with BERD spokes right now. XC930 rims (30mm internal), DT180 hubs. Target weight is ~950 grams.

My 28mm internals with those hubs were just under 1kg. Still impresses me when I remove them from the bike.
