I bought the Grey stem in 40mm for a trail bike. It was 69g on my scale. Nicely machined, no sharp edges, typical matte finish. The Grey logo only goes one way (-6D), so with it flipped on my bike, it's upside-down. Fortunately it's only 1cm long.
I have no reservations about strength or stiffness at this length. I don't notice any additional deflection relative to a massive 220g stem when wrenching my 800mm carbon bar around more than I would on a trail. The fasteners are steel and capable of far more torque than they need.
On that point-- Grey specifies 5nm. For the attachment to my aluminum steerer, that's fine. For the bar, 3nm on my wrench is plenty. While the front face is widely spread and has more surface area than most of my stems, the rear face probably has 30% less. I suspect 5nm pressing into that surface would damage many ultralight carbon bars. (A beefy Chinese bar didn't care, but there was a bit of an outline of the stem's shape.)
Wren's stem looks the same (and might actually be the same, it looks identical in a matte finish). I also see a number of high-end MTB stems on Amazon with similarly narrow rear facings, so maybe I'm just overly cautious.
It's very solid at 3nm and there's no probability of loosening for bolts this narrow, so pending a trail test, I'd give it a tentative thumbs up. Just make sure you've got a T20 driver.
