Hello,

Anyone here ridden/own the new Scalpel? Is it a capable bike? I head one review compare it to a trail bike but woudl appreciate real world opinions. I've got an opportunity to get the XTR one. Just wondering how good-or bad it is.

Thanks,

Matt

I got it in July.
So far I upgraded XTR cassette, ENVE handle bar, PRO stealth SL saddle and DT SWISS dropper post.

I really like it the way it rides. Rear suspension is so good that you almost don’t need the lockout. Huge bonus that I can carry 2 bottles in long races.
This is actually my fourth Scalpel. It’s fast but still you can do some serious stuff with it.

Cheers, It looks quick. Is that a medium? I have always had Cannondales and know about the Lefty and maintenance. These Ochos seem to be a bit more hardy again though than the 2.0.

Thanks,

Matt

Also, what are the stock wheels like? Fairly light for a stock wheelset?

Thanks,

Matt
