I've had these for a while. I've decided to try to make them lighter.
I'm going to use them for a retro build.

A lot of weight was hiding in the brass bushings (which I managed to knock out).
So I'm going to replace those with carbon fiber ones.
That should add about 5 grams (per pair).
This is the weight with pad holders but no pads:

Other than that they are still missing the quick release linkage and noodle thing.
vertebrae | Precision braking and shifting.
vayakora | Eco mouse mats: silk, linen, cotton, ramie, bamboo, etc.

Maybe you can substitute the noodle for segmented housing to save some weight

Let us know how a carbon fibre Bush works out, I would expect it to wear out very quickly.

Yes, it may be so. Probably.
But I don't plan to do much riding with this particular bike.

take a look at KCNC VB1 V-Brakes and their pads, these would the best of the lightweight ones; I'm not sure if you would sacrifice stopping power over something like the Shimano BR T-4000 but it would seem to me that might be the case? however people that have used them say they work great.

Use Delrin, Teflon, or Rulon for the bushings. They’ll cut weight and actually do the job of a bushing unlike carbon fiber.
