Sram sponsered riders (so far i have seen specialized & trek, no scott yet) seem to be riding a new version of the rockshox sid, no carbon crown and looks to be some more machining done on the legs.

29er way more popular and practical for XC racing. All the new bike manufacturers are spec'ing the new bikes with 44 or 42 offset. Why waste money building a 27.5 XC fork when it's not going to make the company money? It sounds like smart business from Rockshox/SRAM.

My first impressions of the new SID are very good. The remote lockout model was 1252 g with 15 cm steerer (no axle, no star nut).
The fork is super smooth, and I don't notice any difference in stiffness compared to Fox 32 stepcast. Lockout is really firm.

Impressive weight and build. Not often people have lighter saddle/seatpost than my 147g Berk combo ;)

By this do you mean that? I know some find the 32SC really flexy. It sounds like you find both stiff enough but more details would be great! :beerchug:

anyone know if the new sid comes in 130 mm?
if not, what is the lightest 130 mm fork that is around?
