Hello

I am 178cm, and inseam 81,7cm. Right now I am driving Tarmac 54. Another thing, the my saddle hight is now: 756mm.

I am now buying Specialized Epic Expert and I am trying to figure it out which size would fit me more. Is this M or L. I guess the M would fit me more but what I am trying to figure it out is if the saddle will look to hight and the look will not be ok.

thank you for help.

Difficult to answer you for the saddle height. Have you measured the saddle height on your current bike ?

I'm 184 cm and inseam 82 cm. I have 2 Specialized : an Epic HT S-Works, and an Epic S-Works. Both are Large size. I chosen Large size because I appreciate to ride a bike with a long top tube.

I'm also 1.78M, riding tarmac sl6 size 54.
My Epic HT is a size M, but it needs a 400 mm seatpost almost at it's max.
Before i was on a size L Stumpy ht, but i like handling of the M more.

Have you ridden it? I'd be more worried if the medium felt 'cramped' than how much seatpost is showing. It's far better to shorten the reach on a mtb than to lengthen it...

At that saddle height you should ride a large unless you need to minimize stack on the front end.

@Swannie interesting. I was looking at geometry: https://www.specialized.com/si/en/mens- ... 062-154346
Did you measure from center of crank?

Seat tube length for M is 434mm, so if my saddle hight is 756mm (from center of crank) then the seatpost length will be out: 756 - 434 = 322, (so in the frame will be 8 cm). I am right? How do you have only 1 cm left?

tnx

There is still room for saddle height to increase. I use a 9 cm -17 stem but I am going to Evo my Epic and will change a few things as a result.
I ride a 54 Tarmac too

A 2015 Epic size M, saddle height 760mm from BB centre. Also riding a Tarmac in 54:

This is with a dropper post but should give you the idea. The original seat post wasn't at the max yet.

Personal preference comes into play. Some folks ride a larger size due as they like the stability of a longer wheel base, others prefer to ride the smallest frame they can get away with, I'm in the latter camp.

The fs epics have a slightly shorter seat tube than on similar sized frames.
.
I have 2015 carbon epic size large with 280mm of seatpost showing, measured from top of clamp to saddle rail.

Seat height 790 mm, from centre of bb to top of the saddle.
I'm 1.85 m, 34 in leg size.
I'm on the top limit for large, 19 in frame, I've had XL and the extra size was really noticeable and didn't like it.

Hello guys

first thank you for all your help. Just curious and I hope last question.:) What is your length from end of the saddle to end of the central stem? My is 560mm, just to know for expample what you get on M with this position that you have as it would be something similar for me.
