Hi all

Currently have a cube stereo, 150mm front, 140mm rear and its just too much bike for me. It's really capable and good fun, but it's steady at best on the climbs and I rarely take it down anything scary enough to warrant its huge travel.

I'd like to change it for a full sus bike that ideally blurs the lines between xc and trail. The reason being that I'd like to "compete" in some xc races but with a particular focus on endurance events and then also still have lots of fun at the trail centre on the weekends. I want a bike that climbs as well as it descends. I like the 67 degree head angle of my cube because it gives me confidence on the descents so I'm not sure I want the 70 degree HA that accompanies most serious race XC machines.

My current thoughts are:

scott spark (non RC version)
orbea oiz
ibis ripley
cannondale habit

Any thoughts on these bikes or others?

One of those can be the one I have, Cannondale Scalpel SE II. It's a mixed XC/Trail.

New Trek Top Fuel is coming and looks great. I'm waiting to see if Spot ever gets the Ryve115 in stock.

Nah. I'd buy an SC Blur.

That would be a perfect oportunity to purchase the atual one at a reasonable price.

Thanks all. Intrigued to see the new top fuel.

Blur looks perfect too, but might stretch my budget a bit too much

and that cheaper version would be even more cheaper when the new one arrived :-)

I'm getting a scalpel. Full on XC race bike that is surprisingly good as a trail bike.
