Couldn´t resist offer fom lbs and just got brand new 2018 Fox 36 RC2 factory forks, unfortunately with black lower legs.

I really like the orange race version of this fork so got an idea to repaint the lower legs.
Possible or not?

Don´t know much about that alloy material, but thought about removing upper legs, cover the gaskets(or remove them if possible), sanding, spray with base layer, spray orange paint and clear glossy coat.

In paintshop I´d pay about £100 pr more so the only way for me is to paint that myself or get rid of that idea.

Someone tried it yet?

you could get a replacement set of new orange lower legs and sell the black ones and it may cost the same as getting the existing ones sprayed.

That was the option too, but they are much pricey. For now I´ll leeave it like it is and maybe during long winter evenings I´ll paint it myself.
