Xpedo m force 8 ti XMF08TT pedals- bearing replacement tips/instructions?
Moderator: Moderator Team
I have a pair of the Xpedo m force 8 ti XMF08TT pedals & after 2years they need to have the bearings replaced (theres slight movement in/out from the crankset. does anyone have any online video tutorials or diagrams of best practice of how to replace the bearings please? failing that any advice appreciated from anyone whos completed a bearing swap previously please?
...I'm assuming undo the end cap, socket head undo the nut, pull the axle out, tap out the bearings... but thought it better to ask incase theres some not obvious element <they're expensive pedals, I dont want to damage them! >
thanks!

Here are the parts:
CD-10X15X3-NBR: Inner Seal on pedal spindle. 123bearings.com has it but that is a French company with VAT costs and shipping
A pair of mtb pedals , high end full ti model, use:
- 4 bearings 61700 2RS1 or 6700 2rs, 2 each pedal, inner position
- 2 bearings 686 ZZ, 1 each pedal, external position
I ordered a kit on eBay for the bearings from xpedo and only ended up with the external bearing. There should are a total of 3 bearings per pedal. You have it correct but I’d make sure you actually have all the parts first.
Here is Xpedos page with a photo of all the bearings.

The ZZ is a metal shield vs rubber shield on the bearing.
I also need a new seal for my set.

Very high probability the bearings are standard size. Once you have measured OD, ID and thickness, any bearings supplier should have them, for example simplybearings.co.uk or cheap ebay Chinese bearings.
Many sizes are available with metal shield, no shield, rubber seal etc.

I have a spare set of xpedo original bearings, which i've just measured as:
the smaller single bearing: 6mm inner, 13mm outer, 5mm wide
the 2 larger main bearings: 10mm inner, 15mm outer, 4mm wide
obviously these have metal seals, rather than rubber, so if anyone finds a source for these, please post up links
