I have problem - very stiff wheelset on wide carbon rims begin breaking spokes. Rider is racer in Enduro
Spokes are Sapim LAser, 3x lacing all, brass sapim nipples
Spoke break at thread in nipple. Problems are hard cornering - there spoke break.
Will some other spokes handle better - DT swiss aerolite? Or thicker 1.8mm?
Wheelset is handbuild and ahd around 100kg tension with inflated tire
Thanks
DH Enduro carbon wheelset - spokes break

The diameter of a Laser spoke at the thread is 2mm - exactly the same as as other spokes with a thicker middle section, so going to a heavier spoke will tend to make the problem worse, not better, as a heavier spoke will be less elastic in its central section. If the spokes are breaking at the thread, then perhaps the nipples are not aligned with the spokes, causing a bend and subsequent failure at that point. Check that the direction in which the spokes exit from the rim matches the alignment given to the spoke holes by the rim manufacturer.
Must be spoke-nipple alignment
Spokes are perfect long - and spoke break not nipple head

I've had this on some carbon rims that were not drilled with angled holes. They were ok on old width hubs but I built them into boost hubs and the rear only later a few months before they started snapping. I rebuilt it with the dt nipples that are spherical to allow the nipple to sit at an angle and the wheels have been bomber for the last year and a half.
