Is it possible and without serious downsides to mount 9mm quickrelease wheels to a fork intended for 15*110 thru-axel?

How would you even begin to attempt to do this? I think you'll quickly realize how terrible of an idea it is, unless you are neglecting to mention that the hubs can be converted to 15mm thru axle.

No.
The forks are dependant on having the through axle present (it's a structural part of the fork).

I'd say it depends on the hub and design/machining resources available to you. In best case there might be a conversion kit available, but Boost? Probably not. If the hub shell can accept a 15mm thru axle and thinner bearings, you can manufacture custom endcaps and use a Boost rotor shim. I've converted my 9mm QR only Novatec D711-SB to 12mm thru axle by drilling out the hub axle and making custom endcaps.

If you have a hub with replaceable end caps, yes, you could do this.

Example:

My DT Swiss 240 hubs can be 5mm QR, 9mm thru bolt or 15x100mm thru axle, and with an aftermarket end cap, can be 15x110mm (Boost).

Thankyou for all the helpful answers!!! I hoped there was an easy solution, but I can see there is not. And since the wheels are nothing special I will not go down the complicated road....
