I recently discovered I can get a hot deal on crest rims and DT Swiss hubs, so I wanted to try my hand at a relatively cheap WW build. However, my weight estimations seem off somewhere, and I was wondering if anything seems unusual.

Crest MK3 29in 28h 364g x2
DT 350 straight pull, boost, 28h 138g / 279g
Sapim CX Ray straight pull 56 270g
DT Swiss alloy nipples 17g

I estimated the spoke weight as the listed weight is in 260mm and I need around 290mm. These estimations show a total weight of 1432, which seems low for a Crest/350 build. Am I missing something here or is my spoke weight estimation off?

Weight sounds close- But then you have to ride it.
Crest builds with light spokes are notorious for flex.
I would get an "inexpensive" carbon rim like a light-bicycles any day of the week. Better wheel stiffness and durability.

the crest rim is wide but very shallow. add the low spoke count and the thin spokes and you wil have a radillay and laterally flexible (relatively ot other builds) wheelset. I would not build it if ask too
