My friend is really close friends with someone inside Sram and this was what they told him. If you see, Nino did NOT use Etap on the Cape Epic (where the long stages would require too much battery).

Anyway, i have seen Nino running etap on his enduro bike on trainning rides recently so this problem might have be solved already now. Also, if i recall correct, they told my friend the presentation of the group would happen in November but i would not put my money on this bet...

on instagram there is a nino's enduro bike video, with a wireless remote command for the dropper post on the left , similar to the right wireless shifter of etap disc eagle.

Looks like what Batty was testing at MSA. If using a mirrored style control on the left side, the extra lever opens up some intriguing possibilities for the future. Imagine one lever for dropper, the other for suspension and it’s function(s) mapped via an app. I’d be all over that and would love simply just having the two brake cables and that’d be it.

I’m seeing cables to the suspension components but hoping that it is something that’s comes soon after the XX1 and Reverb release.

Yes suspension looks wired
dropper post looks like on patent application
may be they forgot second battery and she have to switch battery between dropper post and eagle etap rd to test both of them

so, on the road you have spare etap rd battery on FD, on mtb you have spare etap rd battery on dropper post

Sram got Neff from Shimano before they introduced 12s electronic groupset:

Really hoping sram will come out with an app for the new etap so you can map the functions of the shifter buttons. A gravel bike with this post actuated by the shifters would be top notch.

yes, a gravel bike with a dropper post would be definitely great... Next would be a gravel with fat bike 4" tires and time trial handlebar.

Makes sense but I wonder why Shimano has no problem pairing a clutch with Di2. Refresh my memory, did Nino race a couple WCs on etap until that start line failure and then use mechanical shifting for the resf of the season? Maybe there's problems besides battery life.
Hi, no I don't think that's right. The short course failure was only the first or second time he used it I think, but they continued with it for the rest of the season. If you google for World Champs photos you can see he was definitely using it then. If they trusted it for the biggest race of the year it can't be too unreliable.
