Does anybody have experience with these rings on XTR 985 crankset? I mean how they shift and etc?
I have 985 crankset with 42/30 and want to put it to 29er. Shimano offers 40/28 rings for this crank, but i need smaller and Blackspire has 38 big ring.

Anyone? I need to replace both 40 and 28 tooth rings, these seem a good price, can anyone comment on the shifting?

they are crap. Probably weigh more than your entire bike. Get Specialites TA rings.

Blackspire does quality stuff overall, but rather heavy as noted above. I cannot comment on shifting since I have not tried their chainrings.

I agree Specialtites TA are worth a look. I did not like their black chain rings with silver teeth hence went with FRM a few years back. Now I have been through 3 or 4 sets and can 100% recommend them.

Running Blackspire SuperPro rings on my Sugino ZX801D 2x10 cranks, and they shift really well. Not as light as TA rings, but should last longer.

Specialites (or FRM for that matter) doesn't have 88bcd rings, or at least I couldn't find them anywhere.

Well I did not even look it up but it does seem like 88 BCD is that popular then... I'm stuck on 104/64 still

Blackspire it is ... ?

Yeah actually you guys are right. I also just assumed TA had some rings for the 985 cranks. Even though I might break the internet, I will say sorry.
