Does any member know of a manufacturer that makes aftermarket SPD replacement axles?

I have to run wider axles on my road bike pedals (zeros with the stainless axles 1/2 wider). I have large feet and heel in. l also have bad knees and hips so I need free float - the times and crank bros pedals really do not have free float so I cannot use them.

I used Speedplay frogs in the past but I am sure there is a string or two on those and their poor cleat design. They are the only pedal I am aware of that has a wider axle available.

Also I have tried the bike fit 20 mm spacers but they are a little too wide.

As you can figure - the big feet are attached to a big body so TI is not an option.

thanks for any ideas!

I'm pretty sure wheels manufacturing makes axle extenders. They're made out of stainless steel, add about a half inch per foot, and are really solid. The downside is they're heavy. Not aware of a longer axle, though I haven't searched extensively.
