I feel like I've started a similar trend to the Izalco Max wave of a year or two ago. Not sure how I feel about that yet...
Fear not - you had no influence in this one!

Ah. I just figured I might have since your OP included two quotes from me. My mistake. Enjoy the bike!

Re: 50/34 and 11-34, Gravel Gearing

Nah. Having a different perspective isn't the same as being on a high horse. A big part of the reason I try so much gear myself is because forums are often filled with garbage and groupthink like you two are spouting. The OP asked if going up in gearing was going to be a detriment. I shared that I f...

Re: 50/34 and 11-34, Gravel Gearing

The point is that gravel varies and coming over telling people that one gets around fine with this and that gearing is not a valid perspective on it's own. THIS is precisely my point. It cuts both ways! My way might not be for everyone just as your way won't be for everyone. So instead of threads l...

Re: 50/34 and 11-34, Gravel Gearing

I think you guys are slightly missing the point of low gravel gearing, or your gravel is not very loose. It's not so much what you can endure and for how long but mostly about traction on sketchy surfaces. Just as in mtb, low gearing will enable you to maintain a smooth pedal stroke and not lose tr...

It's gotten me up 23%. I mean, I would have taken a lower ratio... But I still found a way. Somehow didn't have to dismount. Just gotta pull a Jensie

Re: Best PF30 BB

Funny, the last super noisy BB I rode near - actually the last 2 - were BSA. Don't tell the internet!

FSA PF30 all day for me. By far the lightest I've found and never a peep in the Litespeed, SS Evo or Factor. Also super cheap and easy to find.

Re: Back to rim brakes: another Tarmac SL6

The reason to ditch Vittoria for Veloflex isn't weight - it's to ride something more compliant than a garden hose.
