Re: Lyrebird Cycles Woody

A beautiful machine, really like the colour combination of the wood and metal parts! Maybe remove or cover the Columbus logo on the fork though? Could you say more about the ride quality? Comfort, vibration damping, torsional stiffness? Is it snappy like Carbon, softer like Ti or springy like steel...

Re: Lyrebird Cycles Woody

Here's the latest build: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52698013554_4ea9656f0a_h.jpg This time the SRAM Red is topped off with a set of the El Platino II eeBrakes and an Ingrid CRS2 crank in raw silver. The cockpit is rounded out with a ControlTech TiMania stem and Ti Bossi post, plus a delicio...

What a color! I'm a fan of this bike!
It's not 'colour' - that's the natural wood!

Re: Lyrebird Cycles Woody

So, here's where it's at now: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52632636084_9737b99194_b.jpg I went with a Ti stem because I had it on hand. The Ti post followed, from a local Ti bike company, Bossi. I'm regretting selling the eeWings I had briefly last year as they would have finished it nicely, ...

Re: Show us your Dales

Thought I'd posted this here but apparently not - 2008 SystemSix, immaculate almost NOS frameset, with original ControlTech SystemSix stem, SRAM Red black edition 10spd group, and blacked out Rotor 3D24 cranks (it's a BSA BB version) wearing period-correct Zipp 202s tubbies: https://live.staticflick...

Re: An original SystemSix

Had to give the Zipps some TLC to quieten them down - now they're back on the bike I definitely prefer the look of the silver spokes and black tyres:

Now just to get a set of wider tubs installed on them...

how those tyres ride?
Challenge Strada Pro 27c - they're plush!

I'm reverting back to the Zipps, but I'm probably going to put a pair of the same tubs in black on them

Re: An original SystemSix

A few updates to swap out the placeholder kit, and a *much* better pic:

What a great bike - *and* it fits 27mm tyres!

What an incredible machine this is. It blows my mind. Did we ever need to improve on bikes like this?!

Re: System Six . . . . best Cannondale EVER IMHO

I can't comment on ride quality compared to the current version as I have never ridden the new one. The tire clearance in the back is fine (I ran 25c Conti GP4KSII on HED Belgium+ rims) but the fork is tight and I had to size down to a 23c there. I've just discovered that mine (2008) will accept 27...

An original SystemSix

I recently picked up a Cannondale Silk Road locally, which was going to become a bit of a quirky 60th bike build for me, but then the old square taper BB got stuck in it. Before doing any irreversible damage to the frame I sold it on *really* cheap making the BB issue clear in the hope that someone ...

Re: System Six . . . . best Cannondale EVER IMHO

Got this incoming soon - nearly NOS 2008 SystemSix with original fat stem and a threaded BSA BB: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52447646510_b422ee6218_c.jpg I have a set of Zipp 202 tubbies on the way (same era as pictured) and some black edition SRAM Red 10spd kit landed with me today. Initial...

Very odd looking chainset. Has it been modified as the spider seems thinner than normal?
Later 632 crank, rather than the 631 I had on it previously and that is in that LoPro.
