I finished building my bike up last week and took it for a spin last weekend. 90 miles through Houston, and it feels amazing. Most of the parts were on my previous Madone 5, and amazingly, this bike is within 20g of that build.

Build:

Frame: Trek Madone 9, 60cm H2
Bar/Stem: Bontrager 110/44
Wheels: Zipp 404 Firecrest clinchers (V9 hub)
Tires: Continental GP4000SII 700x25c
Crank: DA9000 52/36 w/ Stages PM
FD: DA9000 Braze-on
RD: DA9000
Cassette: DA9000 11-28
Shifters: DA9000
Cables: DA9000
Brakes: Bontrager
Skewers: Zipp Titanium
Saddle: Bontrager Affinity Pro Carbon, 138mm (using Emonda SLR seat clamp)
Bottle Cages: Bontrager XXX w/ factory steel bolts
Pedals: Ultegra 6800

Final weight (with cages, pedals and Garmin mount): 7.55kg

I honestly didn't try to build a weight weenie bike, off the bat. The amount of engineering that went into building this bike is beyond my wildest imagination. Trek really did a phenomenal job in hiding the cables, which is what surprises most people. There are a couple of things that probably could have been done to reduce the weight, like replacing some of the steel bolts used in non-weight bearing areas with aluminum (I'm looking at you, vector-wing attachment bolt).

I'll be posing some more detailed photos of the bike this weekend, when I have a chance to photograph the bike.

Sweet build.

One thing, those "ears" for your saddle clamp are wrong. The old mast cap ears shouldn't work on the Madone 9 seatpost. For 7x10 saddle rails you need W524901. Those red ears may even be the 7x9mm which would be wrong for that saddle also. Either way, I would change them.

I've had them for over 3 years, and the only bottles I've had fall out are really old insulated bottles that have lost their shape. Riding in Houston is tough, and I've been happy with them.

Looks Great! What height is the saddle at right now? And how much drop to the handlebar does the bike have?

I have to look for the numbers on the bars, but the saddle is currently at 78.5cm

I've got a couple of updates coming. I'm getting the short seatpost, as the current one (the longer one) is just a hair too long for my liking. I've also received the correct saddle clamp and bottle cage bolts, along with the Di2 Control Center (muahahahaha)!

Updates likely next week, and if the weather holds, I'll snap some photos.

The legit cages are good.. the knock offs can be looser by a good margin

These are legit. I buy all my stuff from my Trek dealer. In that regard, I don't take any short cuts (not saying that I buy everything from Trek, but all my Trek/Bontrager goodies come from him).

Will the 10mm ears work with a 7x9 saddle? I can't seem to find Madone 9 clamp ears for 7x9mm rails.

I made the 9mm clamps work, but I'm running the Madone 10, now. I would be able to sell you the 9's. As an added benefit/bonus, they're the Emonda SLR version, so lighter than the standard 9mm silver version.

I gave the 7x10mm Madone 9 ears a shot...they don't keep the saddle stable enough (i.e. tilts up and down).

What is the difference between the 7x9mm Emonda ears vs the old 7x9mm Madone 7 (silver) ears? I couldn't get the silver Madone 7 ears to clamp properly on my Madone 9.
