Hi

I am about to take delivery of a Tune Mag 150 hub, and the distributor here informs me that I will need to use the matching Tune skewer, due to the axle being carbon...

I have contacted Tune.de about this, but am yet to get a reply.

Have any people on here who have the Tune Mag 150 also had this information, and further, have you gone with the Tune skewers, or are you running a different one?

Just looking for as much info and personal experience as I can get before I start using the hub, so I don't mess it up!

Cheers in advance

Owen

nothing in this review (which is comprehensive) about that.

the principal response to this question would be why tune, why not any other 'specific' material QR???

I have many wheels with carbon axels. Two are Mag 150 rear hubs. I use Carbon Ti skewers without problems. Never heard of that before?

Thanks guys!

Yeah, when the distro guy told me that, I immediately sensed bulls**t.

Appreciate your responses, genuinely.

How are the Tune Mag 150 hubs going?

Update...

Tune replied to my message. The Mag 150 can be used with any skewer.

"Hello Owen,

that is not correct.
The actual mag150 can be used with any skewer.

Best regards

Dirk Maertins"

Great, clear information from Tune (thanks Tune!).

So the distributor is straight up lying to me! I suspect this is to try to get more money from me / others as he will also supply the skewers.

Jeez.

But the tune website states clearly:
nur mit Tune-Schnellspanner zugelassen

Wich means "only tune skewers allowed". Maybe its not only the distributors fault.

(BTW is there a english website of tune?)

Hmm, well if this is a discrepancy on the side of Tune, then I take it back. Not the only issue I have been having with the distro though, so you will excuse my annoyance at him!

Thanks for the info regarding the German side of things!
