They offer a much lighter version made of pvc.

Is this BC legal? Sort of defeats the point of bar end plugs...

I'd also worry about water/dirt getting inside the bar.

Not very aero, looks like a lot of drag and wind turbulence (to a micro degree, but still). Heavy and you could always use a dab of super glue on a normal cap to the tape which would peel easily when came the time to replace the tape.

I like them, they look cool but unnecessary...I just stick with good ol Cinelli plastic plugs...

I think that's neat. I'm thinking you could stuff a microfiber cloth in there, and so have it available to to clean sweat and grime off the computer screen, glasses, etc.

He means British Cycling legal for bunch racing,
whole point of bar end plugs I thought, was to stop you melon balling yourself in a crash
Could be very nasty if you fell on an open bar end
