hi!
I'm looking for a cheap light comfortable carbon saddle for my new Canyon.
It came with the selle Italia sls which weights 220 but that's a lot.
I've looked through ebay and found some cool and light carbon saddles about 90 - 100g
anyone uses one of those saddles? Are they comfortable at least?
like this one

what do you think?

Your link does not work but I have a 91gr Chinese saddle on my bike.
Here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=111825
Available at flyxi.com

Not as comfy as a stripped Spec Toupe saddle but comes pretty close to.

I've heard good things about the Merek saddles (eBay) but have no experience.

I got a eBay bought 'Hylix' Carbon saddle on my bike. Think i got it for around 30-40£ and it weighs around 90g. Fits my skinny butt pretty well too.

Nice bike you have, the saddle looks very narrow but looks nice too
flyxi.com webpage doesn't have anything there.

Here is another ebay saddle with the same design as the first I posted:

Anyone tried this one?
I like it because of the hole on the center. The one I have in the mountain bike is the selle italia slr teknologika flow and it fits me very well. I have it for 5 years or more.
But another teknologika is very expensive...
From your experience this Chinese/Taiwanese saddles are ok?

Going to check the Hylix and the merek ones. thanks!

Thanks for the links.
Need to decide which one to buy....
I see in the threads that this specialized clone has very bad quality and it can break as shown in the pictures. :\
cheap but bad quality. what was I expecting from a chinese product? :P

I also have the Hylix saddle from Ebay. Been using it for more than a thousand miles already and so far so good.

Do not agree.
Look around the forum how many components from "known" companies with "reputation" do fail.
Funny is,when such is reported then I see mostly comments like "contact their customer support XX company is very good at this" and when a Chinese product fails then it is " bad quality of cheap Chinese crap."

I agree that cheap or expensive products can break.
I also agree that this specialized saddle imitation could be better built. probably it's good enough but it makes you think if it'll hold in one piece.
silicone to hold the rails to the saddle? I don't think it's a good idea...
Guess the only way is trying it.. it's not that much expensive anyway :)

whats the dimensions of Hylix and flyxii saddles?

What are these generic Open Mold saddles modeled off of in the Brand Name space?

I can recommend the Selle SMP saddles, but with saddles its definitely a personal preference. I've got a stratos which fits my narrow sit bones perfectly!

I have about 1000km on my Hylix Toupe and it is fine, no issues. Is probably about 142mm width, nice shape. It'll be staying on my bike for quite a while, or until I could ever save for a Berk saddle
