Sorry for the hiatus, but I will do my best to pop in the next few weeks with some sweet new Blacksmith shop builds.
First up is a Parlee built for a new customer named Kareem who was riding a Cervelo S5...
He was looking for something light, smooth and minimalist. Check, check and check!
Frame: Parlee Z5SLi
Fork: ENVE tapered
HS: Cane Creek Carbon
Group: Dura Ace Di2 9070 with internal battery
Crank: 172.5 x 52/36 which is awesome for Toronto
Cockpit: ENVE bar, stem and 31.6 setback post
Saddle: Selle Italia SuperFlow
Wheels: ENVE 6.7 Clinchers on Chris King Hubs
Tires: Continental GP 4000
Cages: Arundel Mandible UD
Pedals: Look Keo Blades
Final weight with cages and pedals = 15.2 lbs

Great bike !!!
I know that DA crankset is best performing crankset available, but black crank would look much better on this bike IMHO.
enjoy it

Funny enough, the 6.7's were the one item the customer already had in his possession.
I agree 3.4's might look better visually, but Toronto is pretty flat as far as terrain goes.
Plus, we had to keep her UCI legal!!
And while I usually dig the all-black crankset on Z5's, with new Di2 I think you have to stick with the DA crank for max stiffness.
Btw, I added Kareem's short commentary on the blog.
Best,
Mike

Well, there is some grey on the SLi frameset, but it really looks great.
I'd say typical SL is more of an all-black look to it.
BTW, customer has had only awesome things to say about the bike!
Best,
Mike

Great looking build or your customer and I think the silver crank is 14x better than a black one.
The all black stealth look is behind us - finally and fortunately.
YES, post more builds. Hope biz is good.
