Look bars on a Giant?

Calling it early, I'd (aesthetically) consider alternatives.

Your frame is a Giant.

They say LOOK.

Your frame says Baum, your wheels say Campagnolo....

What are you getting at?

Well, cycling is the most snobbish sport in this planet. While i dont mind having a LOOK handlebar on a Giant frame, you would have to expect to get flamed in here when you posted that setup.

Now you're just being obtuse.

Have a read through the Intro section.

Enjoy the build.

Obtuse? Please.
Pot, kettle.

I asked you what the problem with the bars were.
I also stated that they were coming with the frame (used), not through my own choice.

You then proceed to make such a statement of clarity, that as a relatively new person to the sport, confuses me further.
Merely pointing out brands is neither helpful nor informative.

I'm still none the wiser.

I thought this was the intro section by the way.
You could do a lot worse than to help a new member out, oh wise one...

It was stated clearly.

Would you put Giant branded bars on a Look? Aesthetically (which appears to be the key word you have missed) of course not. The reverse holds true.

gravity supported this.

You've then decided to carry on like a pork chop. None of us can make it clearer.

And just because the bars are coming with the frame it does not mean you're compelled to use them. Again, have a closer read through the Intro section and you will hopefully start to appreciate the aesthetic considerations that go in to builds that get a lot of kudos.

It's no clearer.

Why, just because they say LOOK on them, would it make any difference??

I am aware I am under no obligation to use them, however, as they are coming with the frame, I see no reason to see how they feel/look (see what I did there) before shelling out for another set.

Unless, of course, you can provide me with a non cryptic reason as to why I should absolutely most definitely not use LOOK bars on a GIANT!!

I am not trying to carry on like a 'pork chop' as you so eloquently put it, merely responding to you in the same regard you are showing me.

As you are a (clearly) more long standing and 'experienced' member, new members would look to such a person for guidance and advice.
Not underhand comments.

i think the style weenies are saying that the ' various logos' may clash...
think building a car toyota with a nissan bonnet & renault badges etc...

if the bars were 'destickered' they would be acceptable...

on flipside i think some of the criticism is a bit harsh esp from some who should know better...

Thanks SDP.

I shall see how they look once built.
After all, it's not a huge job to swap bars out.

There was no 'criticism', rather a suggestion on how to avoid an aesthetic faux pas.

I thought you "should know better" that this would be the first thing others would point to if the bike was Introduced as a complete build.

Stoo kicked off from there my friend.

Must admit, stripping the bar logo did not occur to me. Would certainly be worth doing - cheap (well, cheaper than new bars) and easy enough.

Anyway, enough hijacking. Get rid of the 'LOOK' if you can, otherwise the rest of it looks spot on. Even down to the Rotor nicely match the TCR scheme.
