2012 Giant Defy Advanced 2

She's a 2012 model Giant Defy advanced 2, in Large.
I bought her new in January as my very first road bike and so far she's done about 2000 miles.

As sold spec as follows;
Frame/Fork: Advanced-Grade Composite with full carbon fork, OverDrive 2 front end, 1 1/4"-1 1/2"
Bars: Giant Contact
Stem: Giant Contact Ti
Seatpost: Giant Vector Composite
Saddle: Fi'zi:k Aliante Delta
Pedals: Ultegra 6700
Brakes: Ultegra 6700
Cassette: Ultegra 11-28T
Chain: Ultegra
Chainset: Ultegra, 34/50
Bottom Bracket: Shimano Dura-Ace, Press Fit
Wheels: Giant P-SL1 WheelSystem
Tyres : Giant P-SL1 23mm

Only changes I've made are a set of Ultegra 6700 pedals, a set of Giant's P-SLR1 rims with Bontrager R2 23mm tyres, 12-25T Ultegra Cassette and Dura Ace chain.

She is my current do-it-all bike but will soon become the training/winter hack as I will soon be building a 2012 TCR Advanced SL with ISP.
That will have UDi2 and probably P-SLR1 Aero wheels.

This is very true.

However I only have my crude bathroom scales to measure with!!

7.7-7.8kg with 2x cages, SRAM Garmin mount and Lezyne pressure drive pump and mount.

Nice looking frame! Please ditch the red tires!!! Why do folks insist on buying colored tires....it only encourages the manufacturers to produce them!

I usually have Conti GP 4000S' on there.

I actually quite like the red.

Nary a chance a Giant came with Bontrager tires.

That said, a very nice looking bike. Will you be lobbing off the top of the steerer?

Aye, the fella I bought the wheels off had a Trek.
Giant wheels on a Trek...

Steerer, probably, maybe....
I may sell the thing yet.
Moving to sunnier climes soon, so may not need a training/winter hack.

So the TCR build parts are coming in

Zipp 303 firecrest clinchers
Power2max on rotor 3D cranks with 53/39T rotor rings
Fizik arione cx
Now do I go DA 9000 or 7900....

Only thing holding me back is my spare wheels are only 10spd..

Replaced the bar tape for black fizik performance stuff and replaced the saddle with a black Arione.

Need to cut the steerer. I know!

And change that compact to a standard!!!

Warranty replacement inbound in a slightly smaller size too hopefully

New frame arrived, same size :S

Never mind, freshly rebuilt with fresh cables, chain, cassette and chainset.

Like a new bike!

New wheels also, a set of Stans Alpha ZTR 400's with Powertap front and rear (G3) hubs, Sapim CX Ray spokes.

Training bike complete.

I'll be bacjk training once I'm healed:)
