Gum hasn't posted here for quite a while, pretty much disappearing shortly after his epic build was completed.
Given the location and details of the listing, and from my memory of his eBay listings before, that's him selling it.

EDIT: I guess I never saw this posting - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=114990&p=980822#p980822
Prior to his post on April 18 2013, his last post was in May of 2012.

Perhaps only he knows why he is selling it, however.

Gum's Crumpton is one the stand out WW bikes of all time. It seemed to be a genuinely hard riding product at a sub 4.5kg weight. Gum seemed to go through an astonishing journey to get there. Gum's journey captivated all of us.

With some WW builds they do seem to be about the bike and not the riding experience, an academic process rather than the desire to create the ultimate riding experience.

I would really love to know why Gum is selling this extraordinary bike. Gum are you out there?

The price just doesn't add up.

It's probably worth 50-60% of what the poor chap is asking.

Because a used bike is rarely ever worth what a user thinks it is worth. Started at $20k. No takes. $15k. We will see. But I think it will end up going for $10-12k if he is lucky.

The reason being WW market is small. Someone wanting a bike like this will probably want to build it themselves with just the parts they like (mechanical group, saddle, wheels, frame, colors, crank...etc.). rather than buy a bike already done. This isn't some Rembrandt that will appreciate over time.

Well he paid a lot less than $6K for the frame, the wheelset is $2K and if the rest adds up to $7K at retail ( I don't think it does but haven't "done the math") then hes asking full retail for a used product on Ebay. Makes no sense to me sorry.

Sad to see that baby up for adoption. In my experience 1/2 the average internet price for new parts is what will get things sold, especially for light weight parts where longevity is always a question. We consumers are a selfish bunch.
