Considering going from SRAM to Shimano electronic. Some questions and concerns below I have

1. Does anyone run a mix of DA and Ultegra? I hate the look of the Ultegra cranks and would also prefer the DA brakes

2. I currently run a 12-30 cassette. Currently shimano Electronics go up to a 28t cassette. Concerned it could be difficult in the hills

I have put a 30 on an Ultegra DI2, no problems at all.

Had heard it goes to 30, but not seen it in use. I assume it's 11-30 with a compact up front?

What chainrings do you use? I assume if you are getting Di2 you race? You have no need for more than 25 (in my eyes) for racing. I use a 12-22 with 39-53 for all my training/racing/commuting however could see the benefit of up to 25. I highly doubt you'd need to go up to a 30.

There are no reasons Ultegra and DA shouldn't mix that I know of.

Sorry to jump on the thread here, but I#m going to be building up a bike very soon and I'm looking for the best place to buy a Dura Ace Di2 Groupset (10spd)

Internal wiring with Di2 mount battery.
Struggling.
Any suggestions people?

The chainring spacing is the same for both groups.

I have a buddy that got the KI2 rear derailleur conversion from K-edge.
He runs an 11-32 and sometimes an 11-36 with his DI2.
I would suggest this if you want DI2 and low gears.
He runs a 50/34 up front. He is strong too- just likes low gears and also
likes to keep it in big ring in races.
