That might be a bit of a problem seeing as XX1 based on a spider with a 76mm BCD.

Pretty sure the idea is to make chainrings to work on a standard road crankset, in sizes suitable for cross, but with the thick/thin tooth design shown by XX1 to be helpful in chain retention.

The only time you need bigger gears than 11-40 would be start of Uci or European races..Wolftooth, Ideally you'd make a 38-40-42 I would race one with a 28 cassette if i was told i was racing single or had to run them, having seen Kevin lose races last season because of single rings Im certainly not a fan

Exactly. Plus, Sram didn't copyright the design (as the new race face- and others- copies indicate).

I run a 42 tooth flat ring (vuelta, like 25 bucks!) with a 13-29 10 speed cassette on the back. (campy record derailleur/shifters)

Do you know what the weight on that Vuelta chainring is?

My perfect setup would be a Wolf Tooth 38T ring, as a single Cannondale Hollowgram Spidering. I know Wolf Tooth does a direct mount ring for SRAM GXP, why no love for Hollowgram??

Maybe they'll get to it eventually. I'm sure they've been busy the last couple of months.

Well... Wolf tooth and Absolute Black both appear to have 38t on the way for 130bcd. SRAM also has a 38t in XX1 and X1. Cannondale and others make xx1 spiders for hollowgram. So, there are a couple of options here. But how clean and light would it be to have an integrated spider+chainring with these chain-gripping tooth profiles! This would be THE killer CX Single ring setup.

But I'm not going to hold my breath. Maybe waiting a bit will allow Shimano/SRAM to introduce a clutched cx-specific rear derr and eliminate all doubts.
