Salsa Colossal Ti frame w/ disc brakes - Wow! Hot!
Moderator: robbosmans
The disc brake invasion continues. Add another major manufacturer to the industry who have a pure road bike w/ disc brakes.
This one is hot! Check it out. The rotors that Salsa chose to go with are on the smallish side at 140mm front and rear. The rotors are hardly noticeable, and the lack of caliper brakes give the bike a cleaner look. Salsa Cycles calls it the "Colossal" Ti frame.
The fork is an Enve road fork made specifically for road bikes, not cyclocross.
Axle-to-crown = 367mm
Rake = 43mm

Nice but I suspect the future is post-mount calipers on the chainstay, rather than the 'outboard' IS mount. Just tidier that way, and no need for an additional IS-PM bracket, and the cable routing can go downtube rather than toptube. But the angles are good and it's a handsome bike.
Do we know the frame/fork weight?

How big of tire can be used?
Custom Steel is the ONLY way to roll!

If you have a bike named "Colossal" then obviously there is the need for disc brakes.
I personally doubt that there is a "disc brake invasion".
Manufacturers and cycling media want us to make believe that there is a invasion and a need for a disc braked road bike within cyclists arsenal . I will spend not one cent on these.
