More bizarre occurrences in the peleton. Tommy Voekler taken out by his own bidon at the Tour of Belgium.
Riding over some pave, one of his bottles popped out of it's cage and got jammed in his rear wheel against the frame, locked up the wheel and took him down.
Looked quite serious. Hope he's okay.

Great demonstration of panache by Visconti!

Gesink didn't snapped his chain, it actually jumped off his chainring when he hit the cobbles.
In 2013 I started to think if the groupsets are actually getting better or worse.
I don't remember a year with so many mechanical problems...

Voeckler's first race after he broke his collarbone too, isn't it?5 8 5 wrote:Hope he's okay.
BTW is that a Tacx Tao cage? Upon brief inxpection of the gnarly video it looks more like a fancy Tacx Deva Carbon. Oh well, Thomas.

Looks like 5.3km at ~7%. Seems like it could be enough to blow the peloton to bits again.
Too late to answer , but as I said, the narrow roads on the way to that final climb helped to make everything a little more "spicy".
Glad to see so many people along the roads which in some past stages were missing.
UUUUchhhh poor Voeckler... This makes you think that UCI regulations existence is not that bad. At least if they made them better. Cancellara already complained about current bottles with threaded mouth that stay closed when a wheel goes over it, which makes lot of sense. Seems like proper bottle cages should be next. Extra lightness has its consequences.
Happy Trails !!!

Been on that for a few years now. Ahh the good ole Rabo TdF trips are going to be a thing of the past
Agree. Last two stages have been awesome. Seems to be a good profile for exciting racing.

Pozzovivo's crash a few days ago was caused by stuff falling out of his back pocket and getting jammed in the rear wheel as well. As if the weather is not already kicking everybody's ass, weird accidents keeps happening this Giro.
