Hey guys kind of new to this site. I was looking at buying some nice road pedals for my new fuji team superlight. i've always gone with look but speedplay pedals are half the weight. any suggestions on a good pedal that is light

In my opinion you can't really go wrong with speedplay. I've used them for years without any problems. They're super light and really easy to maintain. Some people might not like the feeling of no resistance to get out, luckily Speedplay offers the Zero to those types. So, either way you can get what you want with speedplay, check ebay for good deals.

Try the Keywin titanium pedals. Lightweight, big platform and a great performer.

i was going to try them, please more info on them. tension, float?

i was getting use to the high tension on the look cx-6 pedals - would it be an improvement other than weight going to the keywin ti's?

The Keywin's are the best.

The release tension is independant of the float tension. Float is not self-centering, and where your foot sits is where it will stay till you unclip. To unclip, the pedal will rotate outwards till it stops on the float stop, then you can unclip. To clip in, you insert the toe of your cleat, then rotate your foot in. It is natural when you have riden them a couple of times.

If you are riding track, there is a anti-exit pin that can be inserted once in and prevents the cleat from twisting and unclipping.

You cannot "pull-out" vertically as this retention has nothing to do with the clip.
