Nicely done victory, a stage win in the Giro has got to feel awesome for a dude that spends that much time off the front.

Adam Hansen does it!

Bradley froze up there for a minute.

I don't think so. I haven't seen a final tally on how much time he lost, but he's still a considerably better time trialist than most in the top 5.

EDIT: He's only 1:27 back, the Giro is not over for him yet although its going to be a hell of a lot harder.

Wiggins is one of the best TT specialists in the Pro Tour, and certainly one of the best (the best?) of the GC contenders at this year's Giro. If he did not get injured through today's stage and he manages to shake his nerves out, he is very capable of gaining back a full minute on the overall lead through the TT alone.

edit: Karsten is faster than me. Damn sprinters!

I guess none of us realize that Hansen hasn't read this forum or posted on it in quite a long, long time.

great victory!
about his shoes and cleat position:

And about his road position, he's not far from what Mike Burrows in "Bycycle design" suggests: as high and forward as comfortably possible (without loss in power output).

I guess the only part that's bothering me is that you used 'none' instead of 'many' because you're assuming that everyone who expressed pleasure in Adam's win falls under your description, which isn't true.

So anyway, as someone among those who are not included within your description: it has nothing to do with whether he frequents this forum often or not. Perhaps he still does come by to read it every now and then (a person need not log in to read a forum). Regardless, it is a celebration of someone who by nature is a WW, someone who is really interested in the tech and manipulation of their equipment, which is often far beyond what most pros even consider for their equipment. If a pro rider actually went to the point of creating a user account here and posted with enough presence to be noticed it is clear that said rider is a Weight Weenie.

I dont know for a fact, and I know that lots of pro's don't care much about their material, but considering that this is the english forum with more interesting tech talk, I´m sure there are some of them around. I would bet Hansem enters here kind of often enough to check if there's any tech news he didn't heard of. Some pros love the new trend to 25mm tubulars, others really don't want to use them. I think in a stage like today's with so many crashes in the wet descent, 25mm would have been the way to go... there are also other foreign forums like the german ones with lot of nice input, if you speak german.

Now, about his shoes, I think they are remarkably great. He went a step above Bont shoes, integrating the cleat to the shoe and going full custom and full carbon fiber. I wonder how is the interior of the shoes, how much padding he used or what kind of sole he placed inside...
Happy Trails !!!
