I've been on the prowl for a frame under $1000 and under 1,000g and these Leader frames caught my eye. I know Leader has been around for a while and lately has been more involved in the Fixed Gear/Track scene, but they also appear to make some decent looking Road frames. I've seen these for sale on closeout at $750 so I'm not sure if they'll be around for long.

Has anyone had any experience with these? They are apparently 900g. Do you think there are better options for this price at a similar weight?

Details on the frame here:

FM066SL will be lower price and lower weight, and has fairly consistent feedback from owners (all of which is excellent considering the price)

My 56cm FM066SL came in at 910g with hanger.

Price with fork and seatpost was about the same as the Leader. The front end is stiffer than my Cervelo R3SL with Enve fork and the rear is slightly softer riding unde my 145 lbs. The frame is stiffer in sprints (not that I am much of a sprinter) and a bit more stable on descents. If the fork wasn't a deep bladed fork it would probably have a bit more give on bumps and make the front end more comfortable.

The FM066sl is the other frame I was looking into. But the quote I got from Hongfu was $750 before shipping. Basically the same price as the Leader. I was more interested in the Leader because I figured I'd have a company state side to deal with if there were any issues.

I've ordered from Farsports before and had to get another rim when the first one was defective. I didn't want to have to do that again with an entire frame.

This Leader frame of the picture is the FM028. You have now the FM029, which is exactly the same but with internal cable housing. I don't know the exact weights, but the price is around 420€ shipped to europe, so much better than what you mention. Weight is around 1050g in size 54, but i´m not completely sure.

FM066 has a too racing geometry, similar to an cervelo R5. This FM028 has a taller headtube.
