Are there known issues with 2011 Sram XX Brakes?

What issues are you having. The magnesium ones had issues with reaction with the brake fluid and variable lever feel. There was also a batch with poor tolerance on pistons resulting in contamination and sticking.

Grover is correct.

Buying a used set of these would be a terrible idea, unless you like brakes that don't work.

There were also issues with incorrect brake fluid eating the seals, excess assembly grease clogging ports up, the occasional disintegrating brake pad (only saw that once), inconsistent bite point... You get the point.

Thanks guys, i'll stay away from them. I assume the 2012, and 2013 version's don't have these problems. Is it safe to say this?

I bought a pair of these and have none of the problems mentioned - google SRAM XX and you will find lots of horror stories so best avoided. My are the later version identified by the bleed port being cast in the body.

Avoid XX brakes altogether....if you value your teeth.
