Just built up a new bike for my little brother. He's just moved from his 650c bike. Total bike weighs 6.5kg - 34cm short reach/drop Salsa bars and 165mm Rotor 3D cranks were perfect for his small size.

We're gonna swap the stem for a -17 one and get an in-line seatpost - also the steerer needs cutting of course.

So what's the deal? Obermayers good enough for you, but not for your little brother?

If he's really careful he can borrow them. That's part of the reason he specifically asked for Campagnolo 10 speed.

It's psychological gain for him more than anything else - the placebo effect works on him an absolute treat. I remember when we were out for a ride when he was just 8 - he was flagging and moaning a bit, so I lent him my aero time trial helmet. After that, he absolutely flew home!
