Best adapter BB30 for Campy UT

Another vote for the Parlee PF30-UT adaptor. Really well made and just simply works! Not the lightest though

I did not see a weight here. I told you they are 26g each. Ribble had them at 29g. Why this obsession? For sure these are going to be the lightest BB30 - UT adapters you will find.

+1 on the Campag adapters, have them in my CAAD10 for 2 years now and not a bother with them, no Loctite either, it was literally a case of fit & forget.

That'a a standard threaded sleeve that's been around since the beginning of BB30 - around 2000. Nothing wrong with that approach although it has it's own issues of tooling and reversability. And if you are less concerned about weight, which does not seem to be the case.

Campy Tech docs still list the BB30 cups as 29g or 58g for a set. I'm guessing the photo shows PF30 cups which are going to be a little heavier.

You could always buy them and weigh for yourself!

You are absolutly right about Campy adapter weight. When I wieigh them myself, I'll be sure:)

Some mechanics prefer standard threaded sleeve, but I don't know why? ...greater stiffness?

After buying my Cannondale in 2010, I did a lot of reading on BB30 vs. Ultratorque, and on the various adapters. Because I already had the UT Cranks, I went with the Campy cups, and have never had a problem.

Since then, a lot more reading, and I'd say there is universal agreement that a threaded BB system is more reliable than any pressed-in system, whether it's BB30, PF30, BBRight etc.

That being said - back to your question. The Campy press-in cups are light, cheap, and easy to install. Just clean everything and press in dry. They have worked fine for myself and several others here. In the event you do have a problem, there is always the option of taking them out and changing to a threaded sleeve and cups.

I'm looking into buying a 2013 Felt F1 which has a BB30 bottom bracket. I would like to instal a Campagnolo Record group with an Ultra Torque Crank. Would this be a good solution: http://www.c-bear.com/en/bb-en/bb30-cam ... racket.php

It doesn't look too different to a standard Campy product at double the cost. And you don't need a new set of bearings. UT cranks come with the best!

If you read through this thread, you will see several positive reviews of the Campy cups, and no negative ones. Try the standard Campy product first is my suggestion.

I'd hang on before buying any BB30 adaptors. Methinks Vicenza may have something up its sleeve wrt bb30.

If Campy are working on anything, my bet would be on an improved adapter system - in particular for pf30, where most of the complaints come from.

So dry press is the way to go for PF30 unless you get creaking from it, then Loctite. I am building my Noah up Friday and want to get it right the first time.

You don't say what cranks you are installing. BB30 or something else with an adapter?

This thread was primarily about Campagnolo BB30 adapters, with a lot of confusion about PF30 thrown in.

With Campy PF30 adapters it's probably best to find the strongest loctite you can, and prep very carefully, and hope for the best. Suggest you do further searching on Campy PF30 adapter issues. I only know what I've read here. My experience is Campy BB30 adapters.
