My first MTB WW-build is a Ducati ! (almost)
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
The bike is, as earlier mentioned, a light-build. -and the lightest so far, for Me.
I haven't shown the real weight-cheaters .. Yet.
But first, the heaviest part at this party :
The Maguras.... Weighs Totally, incl. all mounting bolts/washers, QR's, pads, 2x boosters, 2x Lizard Lever Skin and fully functional, a pair : =))) 792 gr. (((= .
All Major bolts have been replaced with standard and custom-made bolts in titanium or hollow alu.
The Carbon Boosters, alone, are 16 gr. each, compared to the standard Iron Booster at 42 gr. each.
more pics, and some pretty light stuff soon.

But first A serious tip : For Champions Leage : Borussia Dortmund ....... all the way!
I got this light-weight bell very cheap, one month ago, - now the Price is going up !!! ( It's mounted on my Salty Winter bike (NOT A WEENIE) . These Yellow RL's are 12years old, surviving three frame changes, with the same original hoses...unbelievable..
Next up - The Fork(s)

I have several fine V-Brake Forks to choose from :
RockShox SID XC Hydra air 2001 (California preowner,No salting, no rain, no corosion !) 1390gr. (Disc, no V-bosses on photo)
RockShox SID Pure Dual Air Race Titanium 2002 no Lock. (US forks, close to mint) 1188gr. (Disc, no bosses fixed)
But is this really light enough ?
The Maguras(Never to be changed) almost made the boat sink....
- The SID 2002, 1188gr. (and so White)... The "gold" looks a Little like Ducati.. (But they are so White..)
-and they are not known to be tight, in very fast corners...
-Actually they are fine for climbing, but no climbing on this red baby..
More forking soon..

The Winner for the build is Very light, Very Precise, and Very Race.
(it's carbon)
It's the Ritchey WCS (420mm) 3K for V- and D-brakes (Nofilingheretosavegramsthankyou).
With this fat 5mm titanium Crown Race (acts like a fork lenghtener so now 425mm). Not much extra, but this fork is a little shorter than the SID's I know so well.
I also look forward to this more low racing-bike like position.
-Oh and the Ti-bosses are mounted here on scale-photo.
- Forks, Fat-Race, bosses, and the glued alu nut in tube : 483gr.
Please note the Red Tape Warning on background : "Bruchgefahr !" - "Nicht Werfen !" .
Again..If scratched hard.. -Then carbon comes off.. Instant !!
It's starting to lighten up again.
more to come-

Chain : KMC 10X-SL ti-ni(GOLD), Weight 230gr -for a short one.
-KMC was founded by Charles Wu in 1977, and was the largest bicycle chain manufacturer in the world in 2011.
Fantastic... One, not wealthy, man becomes world-leader, from scratch, in chains. in 35 years. (they make the shimano chains too).
Not much more to talk about, other than the lock-link can be re-used.

With the Ducati-theme so promenently advertised, where are the Italian parts?
And if I ever meet an aardvark, I'm going to step on its damn protruding nasal implement until it couldn't suck up an insect if its life depended on it.
Hi there.
If Ducati made Bicycle parts like they do their MC's, I would definately be interested.
Italians surely knows -how to design , and -how to get top performance.
Sadly, Italians don't make nice mechanical parts for MTB's.
Campagnolo made a MTB-group early 90's, NOT Pretty, VERY expensive, No good !
And, as I titled the post.. Ducati ! (almost)..
It will be, -in Classic Ducati colour-scheme , -all components of highest racing quality, -and will run on Full Slick tires.
-But the only true Italian spice, in this dish, is the Saddle ( -also the only National flag on build).
I kind of like this Italian flag. The colours, Green-White-Red, oozing with the Racing Spirits...
-So, Italians, -start producing/designing Racing-parts for all bicycle types..-Please.
Soon, Wheels will come up.

This is gonna be something really special...!
Hi kgt.
I haven't made the full search here on WW, -but I guess, very few, building with Magura HS33's ?
- Most Components going on this bike, have earned their position, by flawless function for years.
-Some of the chosen parts/brands, even started small revolutions in the MTB-history.
Like : Chris King : First to use Sealed bearings, early No threads in headset (Cane Creek's patent).
Maguras : Oil, insteadt of wires.
S-Works frames : Specific Alloy Manipulation (Not just uniform round alu tubing).
Selle Italia : First Carbon Shell saddle (Flite evo1), refined to the SLR's today.
-and some more "First in the World" component's . (no photo's yet, -but I'll do them, this evening.)

Wow, I'm so envious of your choice of forks to use, especially those rare SIDs that have v-brake bosses! I wish I could find some light suspension forks with v-brake bosses around here... (mine weighs slightly over 1.6kg :S) And I agree with you that the terrain in Copenhagen city doesn't really require a suspension fork, so good choice of the rigid there!
The build looks good so far. The only thing that you might want to look out for is the colour scheme maybe? I see that your HS33s are orange, any way to paint them red? I think sticking strictly to reds and blacks will be nice, just like the Ducati!

-Hidenstar, You are right ! -Neon orange... - it's too screaming.
And the Red Tomac's will be too much, I think.
- But these HS33 Olympics 2004 (Very rare, NEW never mounted) can do the job.
The lever-handles will recieve Lizard Skins and turn 80% black.
The boosters are CNC'ed alu, BUT NO THX. The carbons will be fittet.
Thank You for waking Me up.
