Tuesday/Thursday 6:25am group ride from downtown Palo Alto (ie, Stanford) and rides up through Woodside and Portola Valley. It's fast. Ted King showed up a few months ago and it has had some BMC dudes including Cadel.

I think that bike currently makes the most appearances of any bike on this forum? Not that I'm complaining, it's a lovely bike and I'm really getting to know it now. I think he's going to have to get a different bike eventually just so we have something new to look at.

Hah! I've had the Wilier for almost six months now and I'm still infatuated. Did ride another bicycle this morning though:

With daylights saving over, I've been hitting the Mt Dandenong climbs after work in the dark. Saturday enjoyed the same climbs in the late afternoon light; ending with a solid 90km in the bank.

1 in 20 climb - extremely popular 6.8km climb from the Basin to Sassafras

Image

Continued over the mountain to Montrose and then turned around and ascended back up the Mt Dandenong Tourist Road to Olinda.

Spring, not very convincing though. It snowed in the mountains the night of Friday, and I thought it had melted. Went up the Salève, but had to push the bike a few 100m.

As per basilic, I too thought that the snow had melted. Ill-advisedly I climbed up by the route forestière de Gex. After maybe 800m this no longer looked a good idea ...

Image

Later I was unable to continue at all, so had a fairly unpleasant descent back down over the wet gravel, twigs etc.

I think this is the first time ever that the roads here are in better condition than the the roads basilic is riding. :)
