Anyone have details for the upcoming Crumpton T5? Supposedly a lighter option than the Road SL?

I talked to Nick on the phone a little bit ago. I told him i wanted a frame similar to gummy's weighting around 675 grams. He told me he wasn't going to build a frame that light again. He said he could go about 720-30 for a size 52 - no lower. Maybe he has some new tubing much lighter than that used for gummy's frame? If he could make a frame as light as the new Cervelo Ca I would be interested.

Hey guys, the Type 5(T5) is in development. All the tube shapes and tooling are done. Several proto-types running. Materials are selected and procured. Where I am at now is tube iterations being built into frames to be tested according to EN14781 to determine the absolute bottom weight I can safely build. The test size I am working with is 55cm. So far best guess is low 600's is going to be achievable.

I am currently riding a 55 in the mid 700's and am beating the crap out of it. If all the next iteration(and hopefully final)tubes are here in the next 2 weeks, I'll know by late May where we stand. Keep posted.

I love it, BUT... one thing i can not get over is - for a custom frame of this price, it is still using bolted bonded alloy dropouts. carbon drop outs work, look at rolo, spin, and ax-lightness alpha. even a small time custom frame maker who is also in USA appleman bikes makes his own carbon dropout.

@spytech right on. The custom pricing is getting out of hand. I can afford it and won't go that route, for the fact it just looks like an unnecessary expenses. Personally, the most unfit, slowest overweight people I see on the road tend to ride custom. It is too much of a status symbol. But it is a stunning bike!
