Thanks for the compliment! :D

I made the pattern for the decals using CorelDRAW and had them cut at an arts supply store.

I'm assuming they're over the clear coat, I'd love to see a close up of how they look on top of the paint.

Yes, the decals are over the clear coat, but I'm thinking of covering them up with another layer(s) of clear lacquer to protect them from unraveling whenever something brushes against them (e.g. my inner thighs).

I'll try to post some pictures soon.

I'm considering having my CAAD10 Raw re-sprayed and I'm trying to figure out a decal solution.

I did a repaint job on my 12-year old Giant TCR five years ago using a white base coat and vinyl decals for the patterns, text, and trim. I covered the decals under five (5) layers of clear lacquer, wet sanding (400-grit) on the 3rd coat to even out the clear above the decals. It's still good - so far.

hello all! longtime lurker here. i received a bday gift this month, a CAAD10 3 in black and white and im very excited to get it seeing all your beautiful CAADs. My goal is to make it to 15lbs, being its a size 50cm it should be doable, with limited budget and all. My question is, is there a thread or has somebody converted their CAAD10 to di2? thats one of my plans for this build. Any advice is welcomed.

Thanks!

Here are some close-up photos of the decals.

*Note: Forgive the color fringing (chromatic dispersion) on the photos. Lighting was poor at the garage.

input welcome...
I have a full ultegra/DA 6600/7800 groupo taken off my Madone and looking to put it on an AL frame, but wanting to keep it inexpensive.

2 Options:
2011 CAAD 10 frame which include fork, headset, FSA BB30 SLK compact crank, and cannondale carbon post for about $600
-OR-
Buy a new CAAD 8 2300 for $800 and try to sell off everything I do not need.

getting the 2011 frame I would need to at least get a stem and handlebar.

I love your CAAD10 laleme! I just put new Red and Hollowgrams on mine. It also has Rotundo bars w/ fizik tape. Our bikes must be cousins, if not brothers!

That is awesome - the gumwalls really set it off. We definitely have similar taste!

Well I think it's nearly done... There aren't many things left to "upgrade" on it for now... Got the Hollowgram SISL's mounted, added a chain watcher, swapped on some Easton EC70 Bars, and a new saddle. Finally just got it to dead on 16.00lbs/7.25kg including pedals, bottle cages, and Garmin mount. I could lose a few grams here and there but I'm very happy with everything! It comes in a few grams lighter with the Dura Ace C24's on it.

Thanks! I'm not sure what I will do with the stem situation. I was planning on getting the stealth version of the stem, but I also have an Extralite stem I might move over to this bike.

ross,
The seatpost is a 3T Dorico stealth.
