When Campag first introduced compact cranksets they did for a while make a 'compact specific' and a regular range of FDs. Later came a single design for both compact and regular chainsets. Meaning ... make sure you know your stuff before you buy something that might turn out to be unsuitable.

Shimano has stayed with a single design for compacts and std doubles.
As said, Campag had a compact-specific mech a while back (CT) but now they;ve gon ethe same route as Shimano. I still run a CT mech on my compact and find it is better than a std double mech, so Campag dropped the ball there I think.
