I do like that king of design (japanese ancient style?) but as a bike paintjob looks crappy imho.

I think the gaps between the individual portraits is the only failing in the art. Perhaps some color blocks or something to tie them together. Or maybe concentrate the art at the frame junctions. But I think the detail is amazing and would love to have a similarly painted frame.
I just wanted to point out that talking about an "amazing paintjob" is very personal.
