My dream bike build - Bianchi Oltre XR
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Hi!
So it's time for me to build a new bike. Some of you might have seen my lightweight 29'er (as in my signature), and my Cervelo s2. The Cervelo is now to be sold to make room and money for a new bike - the bike of my dreams. I've loved cycling and bikes since I was 13, so it's been 10 years now. I remember looking in my dads bike catalogues, drooling over the oh-so-expensive but gorgeous bikes in them. I started off mountainbiking and did that for 3-4 years before I got a road bike from my father. It wasn't the best bike - but it got me hooked.
Back to the catalogues. There was one special catalogue that I drooled over more than the others - the one with Bianchi bikes in them. I loved the shapes, the passion and the colours of them. They seemed so filled with the pure soul and passion of cycling, and I always wanted to get one. I've never had the funds or possibility to buy one until now. So here's my buildthread. It won't be a super-ww build, but it will be light enough.
Here's a teaser:

Impressive weight indeed! Italian bikes are not always the lightest but they do make them quite beautiful. Really looking forward to the finished product. Being your dream bike, take your time with it and get it perfect down to the details

Nice collection of parts! Personally, I don't like the looks of the shiny bar tapes. I purchased the same white but in regular matte and it looks beautiful.
I really didn't expect it to be that shiny, so I was a little dissapointed when I got it actually. I ordered it because of how easy it is to clean. I'll see how it turns out when wrapped and mounted, and if I don't like it it's not the most expensive thing to replace
